Lee County Grand Jury Issues Three Indictments in Two Cases

Between February 20, 2015, to February 21, 2015, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a homicide in Lehigh Acres where a man was shot and killed. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office worked together with the State Attorney’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit during this investigation.
After an extensive investigation, 39-year-old Dexter Leonard Thomas and 30-year-old Antonio Terrell Crews were later named as two additional suspects involved from the case. On December 18, 2020, the Lee County Grand Jury indicted the pair. They are accused of First-Degree premeditated/felony murder.

Thomas was charged with First Degree Murder, First Degree Burglary with an Assault or Battery and/or with a Firearm, and Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Burglary with an Assault or Battery and/or with a Firearm.
Crews was charged with First Degree Murder with a Firearm, First Degree Burglary with an Assault or Battery, and Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Burglary with an Assault or Battery.

In a second, unrelated case, 24-year-old Ja’Quan Bernard Robinson was indicted.

On October 14, 2020, Robinson is accused of murdering a woman in her Lehigh Acres home. The Fort Myers Police Department investigated the case. They also determined Robinson committed a burglary by unlawfully entering her home and violated an injunction of protection that was in place for a member of the victim’s family. Robinson is now charged with First Degree Murder, First Degree Burglary with Assault or Battery, and Violation of Injunction.
