Special Olympics + Law Enforcement = Tip a Cop
Lee County law enforcement and first responders will take the meaning of “to protect and serve” to a whole other level at our annual Tip-a-Cop event on Monday, March 25 & Tuesday, March 26 from 4pm-8pm at steakhouse chain Texas Roadhouse located at 8021 Dani Drive in Fort Myers.
Grab your cash and make a dash to raise money for Special Olympics Florida as members from various first responder agencies including the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Myers Police Department, Cape Coral Police Department, EMS and others assist restaurant wait staff in taking orders and serving customers. All donations received for their hard work and service will go to support Special Olympics Florida and its year-round sports, health and fitness programs for athletes of all abilities.
Tip-a-Cop is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run where law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes carry the “Flame of Hope” into the Opening Ceremony of local competitions, and into Special Olympics State, Provincial, National, Regional and World Games. Annually, more than 97,000 dedicated and compassionate law enforcement members carry the “Flame of Hope” symbolizing courage and celebrating diversity while uniting communities around the globe.
