Additional SRO's added to North Fort Myers High School

press release

Sunday, February 3, 2019

Although detectives do not believe last week’s written threat to be credible, the incident at North Fort Myers High School remains an active investigation.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno remains steadfastly committed to the safety and security of Lee County schoolchildren and in an abundance of caution, will temporarily add extra school resource officers to the campus.

In addition to detectives investigating exactly whom may be responsible for writing these threats, Sheriff Marceno restates his message to students, “Fake Threats Have Real Consequences.”
