Lee County Sheriff's Office Seeks Witnesses to Single-Vehicle Fatality

Shortly after midnight on Wednesday, May 9, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicular accident that occurred near the intersection of Hancock Bridge Parkway and Orange Grove Boulevard.

A 2001 Nissan attempted to negotiate a curve while traveling westbound on Hancock Bridge Parkway.  The Nissan failed to negotiate the curve causing it to exit the roadway.

The vehicle struck a culvert and became airborne. The Nissan subsequently struck a power pole before coming to a final rest. 

The driver and sole occupant of the Nissan, Amber Faith Udell (B/F  DOB 09/25/91) of Cape Coral, was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased. It is unknown, at this time, if alcohol/drugs were a factor in the crash. 

The next of kin for the deceased has been notified of her passing.
