At approximately 2:00 am on Saturday, April 7, 2018, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traffic crash that occurred near Ruth Avenue North and 31st Street West, just north of Sunshine Boulevard in Lehigh Acres.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deceased male, later identified as Hinso Estriplet, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.  Estriplet, a self-employed taxi driver, was the victim of a violent robbery.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the case and, on April 12, made their first arrest in the case.

Ricky Ligonde (B/M  DOB 01/14/1998) was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Robbery with a Firearm.

This evening, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office made two additional arrests in the homicide of Hinso Estriplet.  Two juveniles, 17-year-old Epimenio Leal (W/M  DOB 12/21/2001) and 13-year-old Angel Arellano (W/M  DOB 08/04/2004), are now in LCSO custody.

Like Ligonde, the two juveniles are charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Robbery with a Firearm.

“Sheriff Scott and I are extremely proud of the hard work of our team and the quick arrests made in this case,” remarked Undersheriff Carmine Marceno.  “We continue to keep Hinso Estriplet and his family in our thoughts as they try to deal with this senseless murder.”
