Sexual Predator On The Move

Wednesday, July 5, 2017

Pursuant to Florida Statute 775.21 the Public Safety Information Act of 1997, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office is making formal community notification of a sexual predator registered as residing in Lee County, as well as whether the victim was a minor or adult at the time of offense. We are hopeful that local media will assist in this process by broadcasting or printing the name, description, and photograph of the court designated predator.

Billy Joe Altamirano (DOB 1/12/60) has moved to 8255 Breeze Drive, North Fort Myers 33917. His previous address was 239 Capitol Street, North Fort Myers, FL  33903.

Name/Description: Billy Joe Altamirano (DOB 1/12/60)
White male; 5 ft. 4 in. tall; 165 lbs.; brown hair; brown eyes

Altamirano was convicted in March 1995 of Sexual Battery by Adult/victim under 12.  The victim was a minor.

Photographs and additional information on sexual offenders and predators can be retrieved on the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) website at

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office distributes this information to area schools, state registered daycare centers and Lee County Parks and Recreation facilities located within a one mile radius of the predator’s residence.

Additionally, the Sheriff's Office has joined a partnership with FDLE by offering a link to a new feature. FDLE developed a notification service at the direction of the Florida Legislature as part of the state's compliance with the federal Adam Walsh Act. Citizens may select an unlimited number of addresses and/or offenders to track...and can update their selections at any time. The alert system will send e-mail notifications within 24 to 48 hours of an address change to the state's registry.
